 Singapore's table tennis scene is buzzing with excitement as four young players, Ser Lin Qian, Izaac Quek, Beh Kun Ting, and Tan Zhao Yun, prepare to make their SEA Games debut in Thailand next month. This is the joint-highest number of debutants in the last five editions of the Games, matching the 2019 squad.


These talented youngsters will join a team of 10 Singapore table tennis players competing across seven events in Thailand. Singapore has been the top-performing team at every SEA Games since 1999, except for the 2021 edition.

The Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) is banking on these youngsters to bring home medals and gain valuable experience for future competitions, including the 2029 Games, which Singapore will host.¹ ² ³


Some notable players to watch include:

- *Izaac Quek*: The 19-year-old is defending his men's singles, doubles, and team titles at the SEA Games. He's also the first local-born Singapore player to join the China Table Tennis Super League.

- *Ser Lin Qian*: The 17-year-old has overcome personal challenges to become a rising star in Singapore's table tennis scene.

- *Beh Kun Ting*: This 22-year-old debutant is known for his lighthearted personality and steely resolve on the table.


The STTA is prioritizing effort and learning for these debutants, with no specific medal targets set. The team's focus is on gaining experience and enjoying the intensity of the Games.
